Your search for the perfect party band stops here

Groove Marmalade is the ultimate dance band in the GTA featuring a vast repertoire which includes the old school hits from the 50s and 60s, the retro hits from the 70s and 80s, current Top 40, and even Latin and Caribbean dance music.

They really put on a show

One of the hottest bands in Ontario, Groove Marmalade offers more than just great dance music. Groove Marmalade’s youth and vitality makes them a full entertainment experience, differentiating them from other dance bands.

Like a DJ

This band doesn’t stop between songs, playing continuous music to keep the dance floor grooving. The driving rhythm section, the horn section, and the three singers (one male singer and two female singers) can’t be beat.

Custom made for your needs

Groove Marmalade’s versatility extends beyond just the repertoire. This band can come in many different formations from a nine-piece superband (great for large events) to a flexible 5 piece ensemble (how you see us in the clubs). Our goal is to meet your entertainment needs.

Our Story

Groove Marmalade was Jay Vazquez's first party band, established in the GTA in 2007. It quickly rose to be his first-call act; high in demand for night clubs, private parties, weddings and corporate events. As Groove Marmalade's personnel evolved over the years, Jay's ultimate line-up is now complete with Shannon Graham (the sexiest saxophonist in Canada), Matt De Luca (the Italian Stallion of the bass), Maddy Eddy (an energetic vocal prodigy with Soul beyond her years), and Aaron Seunarine (Caribbean Soca-master turned drum kit virtuoso).

The Band:

Jay Vazquez - Guitar/Voice/Director

Jay Vazquez was born and raised in Mexico City, the child of two musicians, playing music and leading bands from a very early age. Jay studied science and literature at the National University of Mexico, before finally succumbing to a career in music.
After firmly establishing himself in Mexico as a singer, pianist, and guitarist performing at venues, private events and in television, Jay followed his musical passion to Canada where he started his first Canadian band: "The Homeless Band".
Today, Jay Vazquez certainly isn't "homeless" anymore, having become one of the GTA's primary providers of live music entertainment with his company JV Music.
Shannon Graham - Saxophone/Voice

Shannon has been a proud member of Groove Marmalade since 2010. She has a performance diploma from Grant MacEwan University (in her hometown Edmonton) and a BMus. in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto.
Shannon's career has been influenced by a background in classical viola study and jazz saxophone and improvised music before returning to her first love, pop music!
When she isn't performing, Shannon composes wacky and whimsical chamber-jazz and released her debut CD "Shannon Graham and The Storytellers" in 2013.
Maddy Eddy - Voice

Madeleine Eddy is from Uxbridge Ontario where she began singing in church from a young age. Her love for the stage led her to study classical voice and perform various musical theatre roles including Anita (in West Side Story), the narrator (in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat), and Annie (in Annie!).
She attended Humber College for voice and Seneca College for acting. Maddy is excited to have begin her professional performance career working with Jay Vazquez in Groove Marmalade.
Matt De Luca - Bass/Synth

Matt has had a bass attached to his hands for over a decade. Starting in his teens, he inevitably cut his teeth in the local underground hard rock and heavy metal scenes.
After receiving a B.Mus from Humber College, Matt toured extensively in Ontario, Quebec, and the United States and now splits his time between performing with Groove Marmalade and working in a recording studio. Though his musical tastes may have mellowed since his rebellious teen years, Matt always strives to put the same edge and passion into every performance.
Aaron Seunarine - Drums

Aaron Seunarine started his musical life on congas and steel pan at the age of 5, and drum set at the age of 6. Aaron earned a BA at Humber College in Toronto and has Royal Conservatory credits for grade 10 snare drum and grade 8 percussion. Aaron has appeared on Television on YTV's Treehouse, City TV, and the CBC.
Aaron lives in Caledon with his wife Malinda and their children Ava and Matthew and is currently dedicating his musicianship to the band Groove Marmalade.
Kathryn Scobie - Keys & Trombone

Kathryn has been involved in music her whole life.  From singing in choirs and learning piano at an early age, she has developed her skills and passion for music throughout her life.
She studied Trombone at Wilfred Laurier and performs a wide variety of genres on multiple instruments.  From orchestral music and Broadway shows to rock and R&B, she is always eager to learn new skills and to share her enthusiasm with the audience..
